Traditional Implants vs All-on-4 Dental Implants
While both types of implants are similar in concept, the main difference is how many teeth will be replaced. Traditional implants are singular false teeth that are connected to the bone. All-on-4 permanent dentures are whole sets of upper or lower teeth that utilize four points of connection.
The All-on-4 Procedure
Here at Art of Modern Dentistry, we can connect a full mouth of All-on-4 permanent teeth in a day. Prior to the procedure, one of our dentists will review your oral health status, dental history, and X-rays. Upon confirming you are a good candidate and no preparatory measures are necessary, we will schedule an appointment for your implants.
At the time of your procedure, we will administer either local or general anesthesia, and remove any failing teeth that need to be replaced. Once completed, we will clean the incision sites and escort you into a recovery suite to rest and recover.
Recovery time will depend on how many teeth are being replaced, but most people are able to return to daily activities within 2-3 days. The All-on-4 implants take about 6 months to heal completely. Regular exams and cleanings will need to be maintained as well as continued daily brushing and flossing.
